How to Use and maintain Gauge block

Use Notice

1. Keep the calibration room clean: prevent the gauge block from being scratched due to dust on the measuring surface when it is being wringring or in contact with the surface of the measuring tool.
2. Smoothly move the container holding the measuring block: prevent the container from tilting and causing the measuring blocks to slide and hurt each other.
3. Wear mask: Wears mask when using the gauge block to avoid facing to the gauge block  when speaking.to prevent saliva splashing on the measuring surface of the gauge block and causing rust.
4. Wipe clean with absorbent cotton: When using the gauge block, the anti-rust oil or petroleum jelly on the two surfaces should be wiped clean with absorbent cotton
5. Maintain isothermal temperature: When the gauge block is moved between two places with a large temperature difference, the foreskin must be wrapped outside the gauge block box to avoid sudden temperature changes that may cause rusting due to condensation on the surface of the gauge block. When using a gauge block to calibrate a measuring tool, try to make the gauge and the gauge block isothermal to eliminate the measurement error caused by the expansion coefficient.
6. Avoid direct contact or long-term contact with the measuring block: wear medical rubber gloves or other pads when contacting to avoid sweat rusting the measuring block and temperature conduction that affects its measurement accuracy. The substance in contact with the gauge block must not be corrosive.
7. Anhydrous alcohol or No. 120 aviation gasoline cleaning, cleaning and oiling: after use, clean and place it with anhydrous alcohol or No. 120 aviation gasoline to clean, clean and apply oil.

2. Maintenance
1. Apply anti-rust oil: The gauge block needs to be painted with anti-rust oil when not in use, and the gauge blocks that have not been used for a long time should be cleaned and re-coated with anti-rust oil periodically. Complete scrubbing and oiling are carried out in June and December every year.
2. 120# aviation gasoline or anhydrous alcohol cleaning: the maintenance method is to first clean with 120# aviation gasoline or anhydrous alcohol, wipe with anti-rust oil or petroleum jelly, and then wrap it with anti-rust paper and place it in the box to dry Agent (replace once a month)
3. Avoid bumps on the corners of the gauge blocks: During storage, the gauge blocks should be arranged neatly and parallelly in the container, and should not be placed randomly, to avoid the angle of the gauge block from hitting the measuring surface or edges of other gauge blocks, resulting in nicks or local fluffing.
4. Once the measuring surface of the gauge block is found to have rust, scratches or bruises, do not use sandpaper to polish it.
5. The gauge block must be used within the validity period of use. When the expiration date or rust spots, burrs, etc. affect the accuracy of use, it should be sent to the professional department for verification in time.
6. Maintain environmental sanitation, prevent various corrosive substances and dust from damaging the measuring surface and affecting its adhesion.
7. Before use, check whether the gauge block is in good condition, whether there is any bumps or rust. The gauge block should be cleaned with aviation gasoline or high-purity anhydrous alcohol and dried with absorbent cotton. The gauge block can be used after the temperature is the same as the ambient temperature.
8. Handle and put the measuring block lightly to prevent bumping and falling.
9. Do not touch the gauge block directly with your hands, so as to avoid the corrosion of the gauge block by sweat and the influence of hand temperature on the measurement accuracy.
10. After use, use aviation gasoline to clean the used block, wipe it dry and apply petroleum jelly to store in a dry place.
